Decaf, please.

I drink decaf coffee. This is confusing for most people; par for the course living life Aquarius. If you’re wondering what it’s like just imagine a fish swimming upstream while everyone else is swimming down. My natural inclination and tendency is usually different from the majority. Not through conscious choice – it simply is what it is. This surfaces in the most subtle of ways. Simply walking, the group turns left and and to no surprise, I turn right.

Coffee is warm and comforting. I acquired a love for the of the taste. It became a welcomed morning ritual and daily desired experience long ago. Caffeine on the other hand has proved an unwelcome symptom. I am sensitive to caffeine and I do not like the way it makes me feel. It overly sensitizes triggers that lead to emotional reactions that I don’t enjoy. I finally realized this: why would I ingest something thats purpose is to actively stimulates my system putting my body into a fragile position “on edge” when my spirit and consciousness is working so hard to help my mind and body be at a state of peace. It seems counter intuitive.

Energy is important – the mind, body, and spirit inspire this. We are made of energy. There is not need for artificial energy stimulants. I spent many years drinking coffee with caffeine daily having no real understanding of its total impact. Over time I was able to identify that the net impact is negative.

I started to drink decaf coffee 6 years ago. The caffeine is has been solved. The challenge has morphed into: where do I find decaf coffee out and about that tastes good?

  1. Liked your post. I am supposed to be drinking decaf as well as per my doctor. I tried it, but I was not impressed so I just got to remember not to drink too much of it. One cup a day is enough for me. I love the way caffeine works for me. It makes me very alert and a little hyper. Making this the best time to tackle complicated issues/situations, etc. You dance at your own pace and beat. Bravo! You are an individual, and that is something we all should remember and appreciate.
